The Power of Love with Maria LoBiondo

Maria-LoBiondo-headshot.jpg

Come hear a program of Italian stories with Maria LoBiondo on the theme "The Power of Love."

Italian folk and fairy tales have roots in ancient myths, the earthy wisdom of peasant experience, and literary works such as Giambattista Basile’s Pentamerone. LoBiondo will tell stories in which love conquers all—for hard-working families, royal heroes, and clever heroines.

For more than 20 years, LoBiondo has shared international folktales in area schools, libraries, and festivals, including the New Jersey Storytelling Festival. She is a member of the Princeton Storytelling Circle and an affiliated artist with Storytelling Arts, Inc.

Dorothea’s House, the Italian-American cultural center in Princeton, is located at 120 John Street.

Programs are free and open to the public. Doors open at 4:45 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring refreshments to share at the reception following the presentation.
