About Us

The New Jersey Storytelling Network [NJSN] was founded in February 2002 as a New Jersey non-profit organization and gained 501c3 status in October 2007. The purpose of the network is to encourage and promote storytelling in New Jersey.

Goals -

  • To collect and preserve the oral tradition.

  • To make storytelling events and storytellers readily available to the public.

  • To encourage storytelling as educational enrichment at all levels of learning.

  • To encourage and aid storytellers in the pursuit of their art.

  • To foster storytelling with the potential to inspire, to enlighten & to entertain.

Activities – The NJSN website includes story events, resources, and a directory of storytellers in the New Jersey area, connecting the public with opportunities to appreciate the art of storytelling.
