Call for Workshop Proposals

The New Jersey Storytelling Festival Committee is accepting workshop proposals for the 27th Annual NJ Storytelling Festival. 

Workshops will take place from 9:30am to 11:30am.

Selected workshop(s) must benefit performers and educators, as well as festival attendees.

Length of workshop: 2 hours

Deadline for submission is June 1, 2019.

Proposals must include:

1.            Contact information

2.            Presenter bio—50 words or less

3.            Digital photo

4.            Workshop title

5.            Educational objectives*

6.            Workshop agenda/lesson plan

7.            Handouts in a separate attachment**

8.            Experience: list past presentations

(Include: titles, objectives, dates, venues, reviews, or references.)

*Note: Specific objectives and recommendations for applying storytelling techniques and strategies must be noted, including Core Curricular Standards as appropriate.  Handouts are strongly suggested.

**Handouts will be printed for distribution by NJ Storytelling Festival Committee.

Compensation: $500 and possible accommodations at the warm home of one of our members.

Participants will earn 3 professional development credits. The workshop is free, made possible by the Friends of Howell Living History Farm and the New Jersey Storytelling Network. It will run promptly from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. in the Visitor’s Center of Howell Farm. The workshop is handicapped accessible. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the festival.
