The New Jersey Storytelling Guild

The New Jersey Storytelling Guild was started by Gerald Fierst in 1988. Since then membership has increased to more than forty experienced and novice storytellers, and interested civilians, from all over northern and central New Jersey. It is the purpose of the Guild to foster storytelling throughout the state and to nurture new tellers by providing a safe and supportive environment for practicing their craft.

The guild meets on the first Sunday of the month from September to June at the Vincent Building to the right of the Union Congregational church at 176 Cooper Ave. Montclair, NJ. The meetings alternate story swaps and seasonal celebrations with workshops developed by members and invited guests. Its membership is also available for performances. Dues are $30 per year or $10 for an individual workshop. Story swaps are free.
