25th Annual: New Jersey Storytelling Festival

No horsing around! Come enjoy stories told for ages, for all ages, on Saturday, September 16, 2017, from noon to 6 p.m. Storytellers from throughout the state will convene at Howell Living History Farm offering bales of laughter with farm-related stories and more.

A story slam from noon to 1 p.m. with the theme “The Last Straw” will begin the fun; contestants will be chosen at random to recount their personal story in five minutes or less.

A continuous rotation of tellers will perform at sites throughout the farm from the entire afternoon. The event’s signature close from 5 to 6 p.m., the Lightning Round, will polish off the free event with 25 tellers who perform two-minute tales in rapid succession.

Prior to the festival, a free workshop will be offered from 9:30-11:30 a.m., open to all interested in storytelling techniques.
