New Jersey Storytelling Guild: Using Technology to Get your Story Out with Denise McCormack

Participants in this workshop will learn how to promote their storytelling businesses with technology.  We will discuss and apply best practices in creating promotional flyers, create a flyer using readily available tools in Power Point and Word, as well as online resources, and post and send a professionally made flyer online.

If time allows, participants will also be able to capture information in a readily accessible and easily customizable spreadsheet.

It is recommended that, in addition to pen and paper, participants bring laptops or similar device.

Denise McCormack tells professionally throughout the tri-state area, touting the efficacy of storytelling for entertainment, education, social justice, and community, as well as for its substantial benefits to health and well-being. She holds an M.Ed. in the areas of language, learning, and literacy and delights in working with all ages.  In addition to being a member of New Jersey Storytelling Network, she is a member of the NJ Storytelling Festival team, president of Patchwork Storytelling Guild, an active member of the Lehigh Valley Storytelling Guild, NJ state liaison for the National Storytelling Network, and a member of various other local and national organizations where storytelling plays an integral role.

Denise manages websites and Facebook pages for many of these organizations, including NJSN. She will soon host a radio program in the Germantown area featuring storytelling and storytellers!

Denise's mantra: There is a story for every time and purpose under heaven. To find out more about Denise, visit her website at
