Water Voices

_RR & LR-2-12-16.jpg

Portuguese storyteller Ana Sofia Paiva , accompanied by guitarist João Paiva, brings an aquatic heart of narrative and song, and an invitation to share memory and silence. Her work of traditional ballads and tales is shaped by the geography and cultures of the Iberian peninsula seen through the lens of Atlantismo. The program includes old southern laments, raw voices of water creatures, sirens and serpents urging us to resist a world where nothing seems to make sense and helping us to remember who we really are.
